Which design is best?
Headphones (or earphones) are available in many different designs and styles including over-ear, on-ear, in-ear, headsets, and earbuds, wired and wireless. And JBL has models to cover them all!
Over-Ear Headphones
For music lovers and audiophiles this type of design is arguably the best for sound quality. Generally you will find larger drivers which deliver deeper bass response and due to their closed design they tend to have better noise insulation. Also, over-ear designs tend to be more comfortable as they don't put pressure directly onto the ear (although some listeners prefer the feel of other designs). Compared to on-ear designs they tend to stay in place better as well.
